Who can visit the SMAC? The SMAC Committee, the show's organiser, continues to be uncompromising about the way that it selects visitors at the entrance to the exhibition.
Authorised visitors are exclusively professional.
Only retailers and suppliers active in one of the show's sectors are allowed to take part.
Admission is also allowed for people in the process of creating a shop in one of the show's sectors.
In all cases, all visitors must bring along documentary evidence as proof of their activity
(see question: Which documents?)
All visitors must wear a strictly personal badge bearing their name.

Which retailers can visit the SMAC?

Retailers may run their business from a well-established shop, by mail order, by catalogue or over the Internet.


What documents must be shown at the entrance to the SMAC?

All visitors must provide evidence of their activity.

A business card will not be sufficient.

Trade retailers must present a copy of their company registration certificate or trade register.

People currently creating a retail company or shop (only) in one of the show's sectors must present a recent document from the following:
- A certificate from the chamber of commerce (providing proof of membership or registration),
- A certificate from a training organisation,
- A copy of your application form for incorporation in the register of companies or trade register,
- A commercial lease or draft commercial lease,
- An in-company training certificate,

All other documents used to check that the visitor is actually opening a shop will be examined.

Registering a trade name or filing a patent with the Patent Office is not sufficient.

Could I be refused admission to the SMAC? YES, if you are unable to present the required documents to confirm your trade status, such as those listed in the previous question.


How much does it cost to enter the SMAC?

Admission fee: 25 euros.


Visitors must fill in an application form to receive an access badge.
Personal badges bearing the visitor's name must be worn within the exhibition centre.



Are badges only valid on the first day of opening? Badges are valid for the entire duration of the show.
Badges must, however, bear the visitor's name.

>How do I register
for the SMAC?

Before heading along to the show, you can:

>> Pre-register over the Internet before the closing date
on www.smacparis.com, by filling in the Visitor's Badge Application form.

>> Fill in and return the Visitor's Badge Application form shown on the "Invitation", which can be requested by fax from +33 (0)1 42 85 42 40.

In the hall at the show's reception
You will fill in the Visitor's Badge Application form at the show's reception area.

Please note: in all cases, only fully completed forms will be accepted.
Only visitors with a project to create a retail company or shop in one of the show's sectors are allowed to leave the Register of companies or Trade register box empty.

Can I bring someone along to the SMAC? YES, any qualified visitor admitted to the SMAC may be accompanied by a family member or work colleague. In this case, the accompanying person must also be registered like any other visitor.
Each person wishing to enter the SMAC must be identified and registered under his/her name. Badges will not be issued with the same name to several people.

How can I apply for a badge over the Internet? Visit the www.smacparis.com, website and click on
"Your pass to visit !"
Fill in the entire form displayed.
If your application meets the Committee's requirements, you will receive a registration number and a barcode by email.
You can then print off the reply.

At the show's reception area, go to the special "Badge
by Internet" counter and present your printed document.
You will consequently save time at the show.

I pre-registered on the www.smacparis.com website but I have not received a reply. Depending on the case:
>> You have not filled in the form correctly or certain details are incomplete. Start again by filling in the whole form without making any mistakes.
>> You do not meet the required conditions for visitor admission to the SMAC. In this case, there is no need
to apply again.

Are certain categories excluded from the SMAC? YES.
All those that do not meet the required criteria will not be allowed admission to the SMAC.
The governing criterion is not the "trade" or "professional" status, but the characteristics of the activity or business in question.
For example, an artist, whether or not professional, will not be allowed admission to the SMAC. The same applies to other artist categories, such as designers, architects, stylists, artistic directors, artistic consultants, model makers and illustrators. The same applies to teachers in general, trainers, lecturers, course and workshop leaders, and so on. This list is not exhaustive.
Similarly, people intending to visit the SMAC for canvassing purposes will not be allowed to do so.
Anyone, even wearing a badge, that does not meet the required criteria may be asked to leave the show.

What are the opening times? Sunday and Monday from 9.00 am to 6.00
Tuesday from 9.00 to 5.00.

NO. Animals are not allowed.
Can I take photos
at the SMAC?
NO. Not unless specifically authorised by the Organisation Committee and the exhibitors and/or people that you wish to photograph.

YES.
Is smoking allowed
at the SMAC?

NO. In accordance with current legislation, smoking is prohibited at the show.
